Yoga has been a part of Lois' life since 2000.  She became a certified instructor in 2014.  She enjoys the challenges and relaxation that you experience in Yoga.

     Lois and her husband, Clarence, live in Waukon where they have raised their two daughters, Jessica and Colleen.  They are proud grandparents to Piper, Henry, and Emily.  In Lois' spare time, she gardens, camps, and bikes.

Deb Landsom - Fitness Instructor

      Deb, maiden name "Ingvalson," is originally from Spring Grove, MN.  She has been a registered nurse for 26 years.  Deb and her husband, Scott, have been married for 24 years and have three children and three beautiful grandchildren. 

     Deb has a long history of teaching "senior exercise" starting with the "Swing into Shape" through Gundersen Lutheran in Minnesota.  She also taught classes at the Caledonia Retirement Center, as well as the VFW in Spring Grove, MN.  She, in the past, was filmed for a DVD while teaching; this DVD is still being used by her former "students" in Caledonia.  Deb has also provided private sessions for individuals recovering from stroke, surgery, or those just trying to maintain their ability to stay in their homes.  In addition, Deb taught Senior Aquatic classes for 6 years in Northfield, MN @ the Northfield Senior Center, where she lived for 15 years (in Northfield that is!) 

     Moving to Waukon a couple years ago, Deb was drawn to begin teaching again, and here she is at the Waukon Wellness Center, where we are very fortunate to have her!  "Stretch and Strengthen" class is a mainstay for Deb and is loved by all who participate.

     Deb says, "The staff is great and I am so proud to be part of helping the senior population In Waukon stay strong, independent and active, enabling them to live their lives to the fullest!!"  "Use IT or Lose IT!!"

      Debbie, who joined the Wellness Center when it opened in 2007, has seen many fads come and go in her 35-year career as a fitness instructor and loves the opportunity to share it with all ages and abilities at the WWC.

      Debbie and her husband, Jim, live in Waukon where they raised their three children, Jonathan, Jordan and Molly. She hopes all community members will check out the Wellness Center’s facility to exercise their body and mind and rejuvenate their spirit. When she is not spending time with her eight grandchildren, who love to keep her moving, Debbie enjoys various activities, including running, biking, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and cross-country skiing. 

    From Indoor Cycling to Barre to Zumba classes, Debbie is an asset to the Waukon Wellness Center Community!

     Stefanie can be found in the early morning hours using her expertise to teach Kickboxing and Cardio Bootcamp Class!  Stefanie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central College with a major in Exercise Science/Athletic Training and a Master's of Education degree from IA State University with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology.  

     Stefanie lives in rural Waukon with her husband and three sons.

     After Sue spent most of her 30s and 40s attending her two children's school events, which resulted in a lot of "sitting time" on bleachers, she decided it was a good time to challenge herself both physically and mentally.  Sue always enjoyed the classes that she had taken at the Waukon Wellness Center and thought that perhaps teaching a class might get her out of her comfort zone, as well as keep her motivated to continue on her path to a healthy lifestyle.  Sue hopes that being over a "certain age" might inspire others to get moving as well, regardless of the number of birthdays they've seen!

     In Sue's spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Bruce.  She is an avid reader and enjoys crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  Sue also enjoys walking with her dog, Toby.  She has two grown children, Erin (Jesse) Bunge and Kyle.

    Bethany wanted to become a more active mother and after the urging of a friend, she joined the Wellness Center in 2007. After a couple years of lackluster workouts, Bethany became serious about her health and competed in the 2010 Biggest Loser Competition. After three months of determination and hard work, Bethany won! She was so proud of her accomplishment, she wanted to embark on a journey to change others lives. In 2011, Bethany became Group Cycling certified and enjoys sharing her love of fitness with her participants.

    When Bethany is not pursuing her fitness goals at the WWC, she can be found spending time with her husband, John, and their three children, Madalyn, Annelise and Tate on the biking trails of NE Iowa!

Amy Johnson - Fitness Instructor

    Amy became a member after her sister-in-law encouraged her to try indoor cycling and yoga sculpt. It was love at first sweat! In a few short visits, Amy was hooked. And she wants her participants to feel the same way.

    "I hope everyone who takes my class gets a great workout, relieves some stress, and feels awesome when they leave,” Amy said. “Spin is such a great all around workout, you get lower body conditioning, cardio, and a surprising amount of upper body, too!"

    Amy, who has a degree in Psychology from UNI, lives in Waukon with her husband and three daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active by traveling to mountain climb, running and hiking.
